Identity
One should try to avoid following ubiquitous trends while designing a visual or corporate identity. In my opinion, moving in "parallel" to the given task in search of a concept or idea, leads to the most interesting and unexpected solutions which are laying outside of the first associative series.

Maslenitsa is also known as Butter Week, Crepe week, or Cheesefare Week, is an Eastern Slavic religious and folk holiday, celebrated during the last week before Great Lent, that is, the eighth week before Eastern Orthodox Pascha (Easter). Maslenitsa corresponds to the Western Christian Carnival. 2012

Print Media
Three lives of a book: in the hands of readers, on the shelf of bookstores, and on the shelf of libraries. Visual perception of a book is inseparable from readers and book existence in space. Creation of such perception is a thoughtful process of the context exploration. That is, designer becomes a co-author, while working on book design.

While designing a magazine, apart from purely technical details, I always think of rhythms and contrasts. Visual symphony is born out of the rhythm holding the magazine composition, and the contrast constituting the magazine melody.

About me
My name is Yakov Krasnovsky. I have over 15 years of professional experience in designing books, magazines, newsletters, logos, corporate and visual identities, and sales collaterals. I hold a bachelor degree in design. Till 2022 I had been a co-founder and art director of Barry&Brom Design Bureau, Moscow. Our agency was a small team of dedicated typographists, designers and artists are driven by the desire to expand the boundaries of their own professional capabilities through daring and innovative experiments. Our goal was to provide unique and expressive graphic design solutions in various areas: book and periodicals design, branding, and UI/UX design. The portfolio presented below is a collection of the selected works I created in curse of my professional career.
